GERARD LENORMAN
Gérard Christian Eric Lenormand, alias Gérard Lenorman, was born in Bénouville in the Calvados département in 1945 and for a long time was considered the "little prince" of French chanson. Even as a young boy, he expressed to his maternal grandmother his desire to become a singer, but this did not discourage him. At the age of twelve he wrote his first song, "Le Vagabond". At fourteen he sang in orchestras and at sixteen he exercised his singing talent at balls and later at the Club Méditerranée. In 1968, he performed as Johnny Hallyday's opening act and composed for Brigitte Bardot ("La Fille de paille" and "Je voudrais perdre la mémoire"). In 2011, he made a remarkable comeback with "Duos de mes chansons", an album with 13 of his greatest hits in new guises and duets with current singers (Zaz, Shy'm, Tina Arena, Grégoire...). On the occasion of his 50th anniversary on stage, Gérard Lenorman, who has never left the stage, continues his tour in an acoustic configuration. Together with his pianist Guy Matteoni, Elie Gaulin on guitar and Mathilde Sternat - a talented cellist - Gérard Lenorman takes his audience into a wonderful world of poetry where, like a tightrope walker, he challenges himself anew every night and reinterprets his greatest hits. The acoustic arrangements prove once again that voices alone can be enough to make a hall stand up and give a moving ovation...
