World Music Day (Fête de la musique)

Description

Discover the concerts organised to mark the Fête de la Musique: an open stage at Les Lecques and La Madrague, a musical tour of the town and a concert by Gérard Lenorman - a great programme for the longest day of the year.

ALL STYLES, ALL VENUES FOR ALL.

Musical tour by students from the Ecole Municipale de Musique.

9 a.m.: Open Day Workshop, music initiation, at the Ecole de Musique Music lessons open to the very young (nursery, middle and upper sections) to introduce them to sounds, rhythms and musical colours. An introduction to music, listening and discovering instruments using two active teaching methods:

- Zoltan Kodaly's vocal method, based on learning songs and games, which helps children discover the language of music.

- Orff's active musical pedagogy, which proposes a global approach to music, developing the pleasure of playing and dancing while respecting the child's development and growth.

10am: Instrumental concert, in the garden of the Ecole de Musique 11am: Concert by the contemporary music workshops, Place Portalis 4pm: String orchestra and choirs, in the garden of the Ecole de Musique 6pm: Instrumental concert, at the Ecole de Musique 7pm: Concert by the Harmonie Le Progrès Musical, Place Citta della Pièce (next to the mini-golf course, promenade rose) Information from the Ecole de Musique: 04 94 32 19 04.

Concert GERARD LENORMAN Théâtre de Verdure, 9.30pm

Celebrating 50 years in the music business, Gérard Lenorman continues his tour in an acoustic configuration. He is accompanied by his pianist, Guy Matteoni, Elie Gaulin on guitar and Mathilde Sternat, a talented cellist. Gérard Lenorman takes his audience into a magnificent world of poetry, where, like a tightrope walker, the artist revisits his greatest hits in acoustic arrangements, proving once again that voices alone can be enough to bring a hall to its feet and bring a moving ovation.
